Cole’s Country

Charles Cole is "Cole’s Country". Charles and his wife, Mary, came to live in Spain on the Orihuela Costa just over three years ago. They are both from the East End of London and love living here, enjoying the relaxed way of life and, of course, the sunshine.
Charles was a professional musician, touring in the UK and Europe. He formed his duo, Lonestar Country, in 1997 after Charles recognised an opportunity to perform New Country Music (not Country & Western) specifically for the growing number of Linedancers. Lonestar Country received three nominations for Linedance Act Of The Year at the Crystal Boot Awards in the UK.
Country music, both new and old, have been the motivation behind Charles’ desire to perform and when he came to Spain he quickly became involved in the Linedance and Country Music circuit on the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida.
In April of 2007, Charles performed at The Municipal Teatro in Torrevieja to an audience of more than 600 people and in February of 2008, Charles performed at The Rojales Theatre (which was sold out) in aid of the S.A.T. charity, the evening raising just over 6000 euros.
Charles performs regularly at venues in and around Torrevieja, South as far
as Mazzaron and North as far as Benidorm. Now very well established musically
in Spain, Charles is in discussions which will hopefully see him perform again
in the UK, France, Denmark and Norway.
Charles has been booked to appear at “The Party
In The Park” on Saturday 29th August 2009, which is an annual event
held at Punta Prima, Orihuela Costa, with this years theme being “The Wild,
Wild West”. Attendance at this event normally exceeds 2,000 people and promises
to be a great weekend of entertainment and fun.
Another regular venue is The Los Arcos Restaurante in Torrevieja where the Pure Country Music Club is held for Linedancers and Country Music lovers on the second Tuesday of each month.
Country Music and Linedancing are very much “Alive and Well” on the Costa Blanca and long may it continue.
